8.75% Sales Tax Rate in the
As of July 1st, 2011, the State of California’s base sales tax rate decreased by 1.00%. This decrease reduces El Cajon's sales and use tax from 9.75% to 8.75%. The 8.75% includes the ½ cent sales tax increase from Proposition O approved by voters in November of 2004, and a ½ cent sales tax increase from Proposition J approved by voters in November of 2008.
